Panaga Club in Response to COVID 19 Update

Dear Members

Current Situation
Another week of restrictions at the club has completed and although the situation in country continues to improve, we have not yet reached the point where we are able to ease restrictions at the club. Predominately we are bound to comply with the directives issued by the Ministry of Health and the BSP COVID19 Task Force.

Stay Part of our Community
We know that not being able to enjoy the wide range of activities we offer at the club can have an impact on you and your families mental and physical wellbeing. I have seen many Panaga residents continuing to walk, run, cycle and enjoy family-based activity. Where you can, try to get some nature and fresh air into your day.

Despite the current closure, we will continue to share stories, pictures and videos from sections and of members at home taking part in some of the online content provided by our coaches. If you’re feeling lonely, know that you are always welcome in our social community. We hope to continue to give you the opportunity to be active, learn, share and join in through this online content - we'd love to hear from you regarding the activities that you are enjoying.

Section fees
Members have queried the cessation or reduction of fees for section activities during this restricted period. The decision to reduce or suspend section fees lies with the individual section committees and will vary section by section as each section seeks to ensure the sustainability of their section through this period. This is particularly challenging for sections with dedicated staff (coaches) whose salaries they need to keep paying or with large dedicated facilities that need to be maintained. The management committee is providing guidance to sections and is reviewing the decisions being made by each section.

We have seen some fantastic creativity with many sections continuing to provide value by conducting online training sessions, posting instructional videos etc. Members may, we concede, ultimately wish to resign from sections however this would in turn mean that they will then be prevented from rejoining that section for a period of six months, please consider this when making a decision to resign from a section

Panaga Club Membership fees
As a registered society Panaga Club is ineligible for government support and thus we must find ways to survive this period so that we can continue to offer the same wide range of activities once restrictions ease. Covid19 continues to have a significant impact on our community and we should try to distribute the burden of the COVID19 restrictions between both the club and its members.

The income we receive from membership fees ensures we can continue to pay staff, maintain and improve our facility. During the restrictions our core team of expert maintenance staff are continuing to care and where possible upgrade our facility.  We will ensure that when you can once again enjoy our club it will be in the best shape possible.

The Management Committee will soon release some exciting ways by which we will thank you for your support during this time.

I look forward to welcoming you all back to the club soon - stay safe.
