LIBRARY RULES - PLEASE READ BEFORE FILLING OUT BELOW FORM

House Rules for using the Library: 

  • Children under the age of 8 years old must be accompanied by their parent or guardian and shall not be left alone in the library under any circumstances.
  • Shoes must be kept on when in the library.
  • Food and/or Drink items are not permitted in the library.
  • Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour that may affect other library users or staff is not acceptable and offenders may be asked to leave the library.
  • If you are reading in the library but not borrowing, we would be grateful if you could return any books/materials to their original location on the bookshelves.
  • Please be polite and courteous to other library users and staff.

The library facility within Panaga is fantastic, together we can make it a great place for the whole community to enjoy. 

General Rules: 

  1. You must present your Panaga Club Membership Card each time you borrow items from the library.
  2. Your Membership Allowance permits you to borrow books, DVDs, audio books and magazines. Members are reminded that DVDs and audio books are covered by copyright law and must not be copied. Library items are the property of Panaga Club and may not be taken out of Brunei. The allowance per family (including single status) is: 6 items per couple (or single status), 2 items per child, and/or 2 items for your amah (if this option is selected). 
  3. Loan Period for books, audio books and DVDs is 3 weeks.
  4. Loan Period for magazines is 1 week.
  5. Visitors who have temporary membership at the Club may use the library allowance of their host family (with their permission) for the period of their stay. The host is responsible for any fines or bills for lost or damaged items outstanding after the visitor's departure.
  6. Fines are charged for Overdue Books as listed. As a courtesy to our members, the library may issue email reminders about overdue books. We always require a valid email address.
  7. The responsibility for overdue books always remains with the member, including those items loaned to your amah. 
  8. Fines Structure: First day up to 6 days (B$0.50); 2nd week (B$2.00); 3rd week (B$5.00); 4th to 5th week (B$8.00); 6th to 9th week (B$10.00); 10th week onwards (Item is considered lost, and members will be charged the replacement cost). 
  9. Members will be charged the replacement cost for items that are lost or damaged, including any items loaned to visitors or amahs.
  10. Renewals may be done by emailing the library or by visiting the library in person before the due date of the item. Items can be renewed for further loan periods unless another reader has reserved it.
  11. Items may be reserved by completing a Reservation Slip which is available in the library.
  12. At the end of your posting please ensure you have returned all library items before your account is closed.
  13. The library reserves the right to revise the Library Rules.
