GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic full-time Golf Course Superintendent (Greenkeeper) to oversee the maintenance of the golf course and its ground. The role requires delivering the best possible playing conditions for Panaga Golf Club members, working closely with maintenance contractors and managing resources within allocated budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant or Soil Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Golf Course maintenance or as a Superintendent (Greenkeeper).
- Strong knowledge of all phases of golf course management and turf culture.
- Sound understanding of the game of golf.
- Experience with golf course construction and maintenance including Greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, paths, ponds, shelters, fences and bridges.
- Ability to lead, train and supervise ground staff effectively.
- Proficient in report writing and use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Able to communicate clearly in English (spoken and written).
- Age: Minimum 35 years but flexible based on qualifications, experience and physical fitness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead technical planning and implementation of golf course maintenance.
- Maintain all areas of the course in optimal playing condition including Greens, tees, fairways, bunkers and roughs.
- Manage irrigation system efficiently and in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with maintenance contractors for tasks beyond internal staff capacity.
- Secure necessary consents for tree management or removal.
- Stay updated on latest turf management trends and innovations.
- Ensure proper upkeep of lakes, water hazards and all drainage systems.
- Identify and treat fungal diseases, insect pests and weeds as required.
- Maintain accurate application records for fungicides, herbicides, insecticides and fertilizers.
- Comply with Health and Safety regulations, especially in relation to chemical handling.
- Ensure key staff are trained and certified in safe chemical applications.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Successful applicants will undergo a six-month probation period.
- Upon satisfactory performance, a three-year contract will be offered.
- An attractive remuneration package will be provided, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
