Message From Panaga Club President
Dear Panaga Club Members,
Firstly, welcome back to everyone who has been away for a summer break. The club is always a little quieter over the holiday period and it’s lovely to see it starting to get busy again. During this period work goes on at the club, and it’s a good time to crack on with some of the planned improvement initiatives. As many of you will have noted, two of our tennis courts are being resurfaced, and whilst this has taken a little longer than anticipated due to late delivery of materials, we are looking forward to bringing both courts back into service soon. On the golf course we now have our new buggies in operation. To protect our significant investment in them, we have upgraded a number of the paths and access areas. We’ve also signed a new maintenance contract, and I’m sure golfers will have already seen improvements around the course. You may also have noted the drainage improvements around the overflow carpark. This will not only help improve drainage around the club and the sports field areas but should also help the school and the north area of Panaga generally.
From a staff perspective we have brought in a number of fresh faces, both to enhance the overall management of the club and to upgrade coaching that we offer. We’re constantly reviewing our staffing support and will continue to develop our resourcing through next year.
Hopefully you had a chance to participate in our summer festival last weekend. This was a great success, offering fun activities and showcasing many of the services and sections that the club has to offer, as well as providing an excellent event for the broader community. These sorts of events are critical for us in growing participation and in building our membership base. A huge amount of effort goes into the organization and running of this event, and I want to extend a personal thank you to all involved, both club staff and our many volunteers. Your efforts are hugely appreciated.
Looking forward the club management committee have been discussing how we continue to improve the quality of the club and the services that we offer. Top priority is critical maintenance requirements to ensure that our facilities remain in good condition. We have also developed a master plan to improve the utilization of the first floor areas, and will look forward to rolling this out towards the end of the year. There are many other projects that we’d like to do but we need to manage our financial commitments responsibly to ensure the long-term success of the club. Nevertheless, we are looking at a couple of significant projects which will continue to enhance our facilities. More detail on these plans will be shared when we’ve finalized the business plan for next year.
The successful operation of the Panaga club relies upon not just our dedicated and professional staff, but also on the volunteers from across our community who give up so much of their time. I’m incredibly impressed by the enthusiasm and passion that many people are willing to invest into the various sections of the club. Thank you all very much. We are always on the lookout for volunteers, so if you are willing to get involved in any way please let us know. As club members you can also play your part in helping us maintain the club and our services through providing feedback and reporting any issues using the club hotline number (+673 7452265). A quick WhatsApp message is all it takes! We’re working on improving feedback on reported issues, so that you know exactly what’s happening when you’ve made a report.
Thanks again for your continued support,
Alan
